I’m going to be vulnerable with y’all for a minute here.

I really like writing this newsletter. I would like to keep doing it for a long time. In order for that to happen, I need to find a way to make some money.

The thing is, I want to keep this weekly update free. It’s the newsletter I wish I had had early in my career, when I didn’t have much money or experience, but would read anything to get better.

In order to maintain the free weekly newsletter, I’m going to start offering an additional, paid product. It will include 2 new things to start, and grow to include more goodies over time:

1. Quarterly analysis of the public EdTech companies: More on this at the top of the first edition, which can be found here:

2. Access to a growing database of EdTech Funding and M&A events: To keep this newsletter to ~5 minutes of read time, I do not write about every transaction that happens in a given week. This database, which currently includes 370 transactions dating back to the start of 2022, will provide searchable access to every publicly-announced, institution-led financial transaction in the EdTech space.

The subscription is $200/year. My hope is that many of you will be able to expense it - and, to that end, I’ve even put together a guide to “how to explain the value of ETCH Public Company Updates to your CFO” that may come in handy. For those who would like access, but can’t swing $200, just email me. I don’t want this paywall to be a barrier, I’m just trying to pay some bills.
