Your comments about fears regarding k-12 education - do some of those fears also involve demographic shifts coming down the pike, like decreasing student populations due to lower fertility rates?
Demographic shifts are definitely a factor, yes. I would put them alongside the alternative school movement and funding shift from schools to parents. What I don't see is much effort to change the value proposition of schools to adapt to these shifts. It's only going to get harder to retain students with all of this going on!
